How to make authentic West African Jollof Rice:
Ingredients Not Included (You will need):
• 1 medium onion
• 1 medium green pepper
• Oil or ghee butter
• 200g protein of your choice (e.g., chicken, beef, fish, or tofu)
• 2 carrots
• 1.5 cups water
• 2 tsp Nana Africa spice rub of your choice (approximately 6 grams)
• Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown.
2. Add the tomato stew from the pouch and let it cook until the sauce thickens.
3. Mix in the washed rice, Nana Africa spice rub, green capsicum, carrots and water.
4. Cover the pan and cook for approximately 25 minutes and let simmer until the rice is cooked.
5. Pan-fry the protein of your choice separately until golden brown.
6. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of Nana Africa spice rub over the protein of choice
7. Serve both the protein and Jollof Rice hot each side of the plate. Pair it with Nana Africa Ghanaian salad recipe for a complete Ghanaian dinner.
8. Add a salad or vegetable on side preferably my ghana Salad on social media to make it a complete Ghanaian meal experience.
